Experimental Camera 2021
Your camera image becomes the face of the money bill because our personas are commodified in the digital age and we sell ourselves constantly. Commodification has been so normalized, from water which was a necessity but is now a product, to more abstract entities like our personalities. We are products. We become what we buy - we determine our value based on what materialistic things we possess. Money is most significant and to gain it, we are willing to sacrifice time, which we often fail to value. We are stuck in a never-ending loop, believing we are moving forward, when in fact we are trapped, like hamsters, on a perpetually running wheel.
Design Process
initial idea: pixelated money bill with each pixel manipulated by color filters to blend in with face from camera input
prototype: working with createCapture(), pixel manipulation, and color filters another prototype: using clmtrackr to only retrieve the face from camera input
